Verification Code Delivery Diagnosis

Can't receive a verification code? Find where delivery is stuck

There are four checkpoints between the sending site and your inbox. Check them in order to avoid repeated resends causing an older code to replace a newer one.

01 / Address

Check the full address

Compare the prefix and domain character by character, and remove any spaces copied along with it.

02 / Queue

Wait for the sender to process it

Wait 2–5 minutes, then refresh manually once. Don't keep clicking resend.

03 / Validity

Make sure the route is active

If the countdown is nearly over, extend it first. If you've switched addresses, update the sending site.

What to do next based on the symptoms

Symptom Possible cause Do this first Then do this
Inbox is completely empty Wrong address or sender hasn't sent it Check the address and wait a few minutes Resend once
Multiple verification codes received Repeated resends caused the queue to overlap Use the latest message Stop resending
Code appears to be expired An older email arrived late Request a new code and note the time Choose the one with the latest timestamp
Other emails arrive normally The sender restricts temporary domains Check the error message on the page Use a permanent mailbox or alias

Refresh

Use this when the page may not have loaded the latest email yet. RelayForward checks automatically, but you can also refresh manually.

Resend

Use this once only if no email arrives after waiting. Repeated resends can scramble the order.

Extend

Use this when the mailbox still belongs to the current task but the countdown won't cover your next attempt.

Switch address

Create a new route and start over if the address was entered incorrectly, exposed, or the sender's form can be submitted again.

Why is only the latest verification code valid?

Many systems revoke an old code when generating a new one, so the first email to arrive may no longer work. Check each email's receipt time and use the code from your most recent request.

If the page says you've tried too often, stop resending and wait for the cooldown. Further clicks may extend the restriction.

When should you switch email types?

If the sender explicitly rejects temporary domains, or you'll need to recover the account later, don't repeatedly switch temporary addresses to bypass the restriction. Use a stable mailbox, or create a forwarding route you can manage over time for that service.

When testing email delivery for your own system, also check sending logs, bounce codes, SPF/DKIM settings, and queue status. The inbox only shows the delivery result.

Still haven't received it?

Record the destination address, request time, sending site, and any visible error, then contact the relevant service. When reporting to RelayForward Support, don't send the verification code—just provide the approximate time and address.

If other emails arrive normally, the issue is usually with a specific sender. If nothing arrives at all, switch addresses and run one controlled test.
